Ask Ben – Short Putt Green Reading

, , Leave a comment

Lucy from Toronto in Canada has asked for
some help with green reading when it comes to short putts. So what she’s said is that when she’s
got a short putt they all look quite similar and very straight and then she’s missing
either left or right if there is a subtle break to it. So the suggestion here is if you lean to your
right and read the putt at the left edge and see if you think if you hit it straight at
that edge would it topple in or miss the hole. Then lean over to your left and read the putt
again to your right edge and see if it looks likely to topple in or not. If one side looks more likely to fall in than
the other you’ve probably got a very subtle break. So in this case it looks a little left to right
so let’s give that a try. Perfect.
